About Us
We are a UK registered charitable organisation established in 2020 to provide equipment, resources and education that improve the quality of life of blind people in need.
Our projects will equip them with essential life skills so that they may lead independent and productive lives.
We aim to:
- Teach how to read and write Braille
- Teach the usage of electronics, including mobile phones and computers
- Teach essential daily life skills including personal hygiene and dressing, cooking/meal preparation and cleaning, mobility, use of public transport, and money management.
- Provide access to adapted household items and mobility aides
As-Siraj School for Blind Girls
Established in 2022, As-Siraj School for Blind Girls is a charitable boarding school in Istanbul for refugee blind girls, especially those who are refugees as a result of the war in Syria.
We currently have 15 visually impaired students undergoing rehabilitation and courses to help them cope with their disability and learn new skills.
Tuition cost per student for 1 academic year at the boarding school is £1000.
In September 2023, one of our students has completed her baccalaureate and joined university to study Islamic Studies.
We currently have 3 students working towards achieving the baccalaureate and also aiming to go to university very soon.
